A risk assessment needs to be done before carrying out any sort of practical activity, this is because people participating could be harmed and injured during participating, it is also a good thing to have when doing an activity because in a way it warns you of what hazards there are whilst doing your activity and makes you actually think about what could happen and ways to prevent any sort of injury’s that could occur.
